Abstract:
Minyuanjing No.1 is a new cultivar of
Polygonatum cyrtonema Hua. derived from a wild plant collected in Yuandai Mountain, Huaqiao Township, Guangze County, Nanping City, Fujian Province, and subsequently developed through systematic selection. The average phenological period of this variety is 209 days. After three years of cultivation, the average plant height is 80.5 cm. The leaves are arranged alternately, light green in color, ovate in shape, with a leaf shape index of 1.8. The rhizomes are relatively fleshy, ginger-shaped and yellowish-brown, with an average fresh weight of 407.6 g per plant.. From 2021 to 2024, this variety was tested in Nanping City's Guangze County, Sanming City's Jiangle County, and Longyan City's Wuping County. The average fresh yield of rhizomes was 9,352.5 kg·hm
−2, representing a 380.7% increase compared with the control variety. In addition, this variety has excellent disease resistance, with a polysaccharide content of 14.8% and an extract content of 74.7% in the rhizome. In summary, Minyuanjing No.1 possesses the characteristics of high yield, good quality, and strong disease resistance. It is suitable for understory cultivation in Fujian Province at an altitude of 300-800 meters with a canopy density of 40%-60%, and has broad application prospects.
