Selection and Comprehensive Evaluation of New High-quality Midseason Rice Varieties in Minhou County

In order to screen out the new hybrid rice varieties with high yield and good quality suitable for being cultivated in Minhou County of Fujian Province, six high-quality hybrid rice varieties were introduced by the Seed Service Center of Minhou County Agricultural and Rural Bureau in 2024. By taking Heliangyou 676 as the control group, a large-scale comparative test was carried out in the middle rice area of Yangli Township, Minhou County, Fujian Province. The growth period, yield, resistance and rice quality of the tested varieties were compared and analyzed. The results showed that: Yongyou 59 had the highest yield of 11 400 kg·hm⁻², which was 12.1% higher than that of the control Heliangyou 676, and its comprehensive traits were more prominent. It was suitable for being cultivated as the middle-season rice in Minhou County and could be further promoted. The yields of Yongyou 8815 and Yongyou 6756 were 10 470 kg·hm ⁻² and 10 248 kg·hm⁻², ranking the second and third, which were 2.9% and 0.7% higher than that of the control Heliangyou 676. The comprehensive traits of Yongyou 8815 and Yongyou 6756 were better, which were more suitable for being cultivated as the mid-season rice in Minhou County.
