Abstract:
In this paper, trapping effects of ten different color boards on vegetable pests and non-target insects were tested. The results showed that different vegetable pests and non-target insects have various tropisms to color boards. Preferences of striped flea beetle and peach aphid to yellow boards were higher with trapped pest number of 240 head/d·m
2 and 86.33 head/d·m
2, respectively. Preference of diamond back moth to white boards was higher with trapped pest number of 44.00 head/d·m
2. Preference of white fly to grey boards was higher with trapped pest number of 128.33 head/d·m
2. Preferences of lady beetle and lacewing fly to yellow boards was higher with trapped pest number of 28.67 head/d·m
2 and 8.33 head/d·m
2, respectively. Preferences of other pests such as bee, mosquito and fly to green and yellow boards were higher gwith trapped pest number of 41.33 head/d·m
2 and 35.33 head/d·m
2. Preferences of natural enemies such as lady beetle and lacewing fly to yellow boards were higher, so it was suggested that white or grey boards should be used to substitute the yellow one for trapping vegetable pests in practice to prevent natural enemies being trapped.
