Abstract:
Effects of different lights with different spectral structures, which include red light (λ=660 nm), green light (λ=525 nm) and blue light (λ=445 nm), on seed germination of
Arabidopsis were studied. The results showed that the red light could significantly improve the seed germination rate of
Arabidopsis, and promote the growth of radicle and hypotocyl; completely contrary results were observed when treated by blue light. The significant improvement of the seed germination rate of
Arabidopsis, and its growth of radicle and hypotocyl by red light could be weakened by mixed green and red light illumination treatment. The treatment by mixed green and blue light could weaken the depression of seed germination and growth of radicle by blue light illumination, but not on growth of hypotocyl. Therefore, mixed red and green light treatment was recommended for seed germination of
Arabidopsis.
