Abstract:
Different ratios of naturally fermented peanut shell were used as substrates for the cultivation of
Oncidium and
Cymbidium hybrids. The results showed that effects of Treatment 7 (peanut shell and rocks) was the best for the sprout proliferation of
Oncidium, and the Treatment Ⅵ (turfy soil:peanut shell:pond scum was 2:6:3) promoted the sprout proliferation of
Cymbidium hybrids at the early stage. Moreover, the naturally fermented peanut shells could partly or completely substitute tree bark, coconut shell, and peat for the vegetative growth of orchid.
