Abstract:
An introduction trial of edible cassava varieties, SC9, SC1424, SC6068 and SC8229, was conducted in Yunxiao County of Zhangzhou with GR911 as control. Based on the observation, measurement and evaluation on the adaptability and quality of the above varieties, it was indicated that the varieties tested had high yield and good edible quality. The yield of SC9, SC1424, SC6068 and SC8229 reached 2.38, 3.06, 3.85 and 3.05 t fresh potatoes per 667 m
2, respectively, with no significant differences with the control. Considered from the sensory indexes, i.e., taste, mouthfeel, and softness, SC1424 was the best in edible quality among four new edible cassava varieties after tasting examination.
