Abstract:
Winged bean is an annual or perennial climbing herb belonging to
Psophocarpus Neck, Legume. It has rich protein and could serve as multi-purpose plant for food, vegetable, oil, medicine, biological nitrogen fertilizer and high quality feed. It was mainly planted in low latitude areas such as Guangxi, Yunnan, Guangdong, Hainan and Taiwan. The paper introduced its characteristics, nutritional and healthcare value and summarized its cultivation techniques in southern Fujian area from some aspects including planting time, field selection, sowing method, transplanting in field, field management, control of diseases and pests and harvest.
