Abstract:
In order to explore the effect of Ca (NO
3)
2 on seed germination of passionfruit, seeds of Tainongyihao, Zixiangyihao and Golden passionfruit were treated with different concentrations of Ca(NO
3)
2. The effects of Ca(NO
3)
2 on the germination energy, germination rate, germination index and vigor index of seed were studied. The results showed that the seed germination rate of three passionfruit varieties decreased with the increase of Ca(NO
3)
2. Except for the treatment with 10 mg·L
-1, the difference between other treatments and the control was significant. The content of MDA in Zixiangyihao decreased significantly with the increase of Ca(NO
3)
2, and that in Tainongyihao and Golden passionfruit also decreased significantly comparing with the control, except for 10 mg·L
-1. The germination potential, germination index, vigor index, relative conductivity and germ fresh weight decreased significantly with the increase of Ca(NO
3)
2. Therefore, Ca(NO
3)
2 inhibited seed germination of passionfruit, and with the increase of Ca(NO
3)
2, the inhibitory effect increased.
