Abstract:
Papaya is a typical kind of respiratory climactic fruit, which is perishable during storage and transportation. Therefore, it is of great significance to study the treatment methods for the storage and preservation of papaya. Six measures for the preservation of papaya fruit were summarized including coating film storage and preservation technology, fumigation storage and preservation technology, 1-methylcycloproene (1-MCP) treatment technology, modified atmosphere preservation technology, heat treatment technology, cell and molecular level control technology. Then, the effects of various treatments were summed up, and some existing problems in the research on the storage and preservation of postharvest papaya were discussed, thus to provide theoretical basis for developing more storage and preservation methods and technologies of papaya.
