Abstract:
59 varieties of succulents belonging to 7 families were introduced and cultivated in the greenhouse of Fuzhou Institute of Agricultural Science to observe and record the survival rate, cultivation characteristics and adaptability of each variety. The results showed that the survival rate of 37 varieties reached more than 80%, accounting for 62.7%, while the survival rate of only 2 varieties was below 60%. The high temperature and high humidity in summer in Fuzhou were the main cause of plant death. Water, temperature and light should be controlled according to the growth characteristics of different varieties, thus to reduce their death rate. According to the overall adaptability analysis, the plants of Cactaceae and Asphodelaceae showed better performance in Fuzhou Area, while those of Crassulaceae showed worse performance.
