Abstract:
In order to study the factors influencing the propagation techniques of the seed-collecting mother plant of
Paris polyphylla var. chinensis, through 2-year field repeated trial, the effects of different root segments of
Paris polyphylla var. chinensis, different number of scores, different planting time and differents treatments with different chemicals on the emergence rate, seed yield and disease occurrence of the mother plant in the first year were explored. The results showed that the emergence rate of the propagation by rhizomes with top buds reached 90.3±3.6%, while the emergence rate of the propagation by rhizomes without top buds in the first year was 0. The number of scores had little effect on the emergence rate of rhizomes, but it had significant effect on the seed yield. The seed yield of
Paris polyphylla var. chinensis with 7, 8, and 9 scores of rhizomes was significantly higher than that with small scores multiply. In terms of planting time, the emergence rate and seed yield of the mother plants bred in November were significantly better than those in March. Before planting, by soaking the rhizomes in 50% carbendazim 500 times diluent for 10 min, the incidence of the mother plant was lower than that treated with other chemicals. To sum up, the main points of the propagation techniques of the mother plant of
Paris polyphylla var. chinensis were as follows:the rhizomes with more than 7 scores of top buds in the autumn were soaked in 50% carbendazim 500 times diluent for 10 min before planting, and the seeds were harvested in the following year.
