Abstract: Yexiangyou 744 was a new variety of three-line hybrid rice bred with Yexiang A and Fuhui 744 which was cultivated by the Rice Research Institute of Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Guangxi Lvhai Seed Industry Co., Ltd., and Fujian Hefeng Seed Industry Co., Ltd. It was released by Fujian Crop Variety Approval Committee in 2020. In 2019, Youxi County introduced Yexiangyou 744 to Lianyun Village for the trial planting with simple ratio. In 2020 and 2021, Yexiangyou 744 was arranged for the green and efficient demonstration planting as midseason rice in the union terrace of Youxi County, which was characterized by neat population, moderate plant type and height, strong tillering ability, good color changing in the late stage, high seed setting rate and excellent rice quality. On this basis, the main characteristics and cultivation techniques of Yexiangyou 744 for the green and efficient planting in the midseason rice area of Youxi County were summarized, thus providing reference for the cultivation promotion in the mountains of central Fujian.
