Abstract:
In order to screen out the improved varieties with good adaptability, beautiful appearance and good quality in Quanzhou area, fifteen germplasm resources of Chinese yam were collected from various places. Then, by taking the local main cultivar Cunjinshu as the control group, the yield, disease resistance, browning degree and cooked quality of them were compared and analyzed. The results showed that: among the 15 germplasm resources of Chinese yam, 9 resources were high-yielding (more than 42000 kg·hm
-2), 5 resources were highly resistant to anthracnose, 12 resources were not prone to browning, and 5 resources had good taste. Based on the evaluation indexes of the tested resources, Quanhuai 1816, Quanhuai 1518, Quanhuai 1801 and GO533 showed outstanding performance in Quanzhou area, with the yields of 43990.74, 93750.00, 54425.93 and 42287.04 kg·hm
-2, respectively, and good taste. Among them, Quanhuai 1816 was slightly fragrant and sweet, with loose taste and slightly sandiness; Quanhuai 1518 was slightly fragrant and sweet, with slightly sandy taste; Quanhuai 1801 was slightly fragrant and sweet, with delicate taste; GO533 was relatively sweet, with chestnut-like taste and slightly sandiness. The four resources were resistant to anthracnose and were not prone to browning, which could be widely planted in Quanzhou as the main varieties.
