Abstract:
In order to screen the tomato varieties with high flavor which were suitable for the mountainous cultivation in Lin’an District of Hangzhou City, the comparative test of the eight tomato varieties was carried out with Hangza 615 and GBS-Gailiang 903 as the medium-fruit and large-fruit type varieties, respectively. The results showed that the yield of tomato varieties with medium fruit type such as Hangza 108, Hangza 604 and Hangza 615 ranged from 30.15 t·hm
−2 to 53.15 t·hm
−2, and the yield of tomato varieties with large fruit type such as Hangza 103, Hangza 603, Ainila, GBS-Gailiang 903 and Huahao Yueyuan ranged from 69.24 t·hm
−2 to 116.07 t·hm
−2. The contents of soluble sugar in the fruit of the tested varieties ranged from 1.40% to 5.47%, the content of titratable acid ranged from 0.31% to 1.16%, the sugar-acid ratio ranged from 2.02 to 13.52, the content of vitamin C ranged from 26.53 to 71.33 mg·hg
−1, the content of lycopene ranged from 2.53 to 5.69 mg·hg
−1, and the soluble protein content ranged from 0.61 to 0.93 g·hg
−1. Among them, the ratios of sugar and acid in fruit of the medium fruit type variety Hangza 108 and the large fruit type variety Ainila were both above 8.0, with the fruit flesh firmness of 2−5 N and the lycopene content of about 5 mg·hg
−1, which were significantly higher than that of the current main cultivars Hangza 615 and GBS-Gailiang 903. Therefore, they could be used as the tomato varieties of medium fruit type and large fruit type with high flavor, respectively.
