Abstract:
The cruciferous vegetables played an important role in vegetable cultivation in Shenzhen. In recent years, the four major pests, such as
Spodoptera litura,
Spodoptera exigua,
Plutellidae xylostella and
Phyllotreta striolata, have caused serious damage in Shenzhen. In order to clarify the occurrence dynamics of four major pests in Shenzhen area to guide the green prevention and control, the annual occurrence dynamics of four kinds of pests were monitored by using the sex attractant method in the three monitoring gardens in 2023. The results showed that the damage of
Spodoptera litura occurred throughout the year in Shenzhen, with a concentrated outbreak peak from late April to mid-June and a secondary peak from mid-September to mid-October, respectively. The occurrence of
Spodoptera exigua varied greatly in the three vegetable gardens, with a concentrated outbreak peak from late April to late June and a secondary peak from mid-September to mid-October. There was little difference in the occurrence of
Plutellidae xylostella in the three vegetable gardens, and there were two outbreak peaks from early January to late June and from late September to mid-December, respectively. There was also a small difference in the occurrence of
Phyllotreta striolata in the three vegetable gardens. The first small peak appeared from mid-February to late February, the dominant outbreak phase appeared from early May to mid-June, and the second small peak appeared from early October to mid-December. The monitoring results could provide reference for the prevention and control of major pests of cruciferous vegetables in Shenzhen area.
