Abstract: The three-line indica hybrid late rice variety Zhongyou 511 is a novel hybrid rice cultivar developed by crossing Zhongxiang A（female parent）and Quanhui 511（male parent）. In the 2021−2022 late rice medium-maturity group trial conducted by the Xiamen University Seed Industry Innovation Science-Enterprise Consortium, it showed an average growth period of 121.7 days, which was 0.9 days longer than the control Tianyouhuazhan. The average yield reached 8793.0 kg·ha⁻¹, representing a 1.8% increase over the control. In production trials, the average yield was 8716.5 kg·ha⁻¹, demonstrating a 3.7% increase compared with Tianyouhuazhan. The variety is characterized by high grain quality, moderate resistance to rice blast, stable high-yield performance, and wide adaptability. It was approved by the Fujian Provincial Crop Variety Approval Committee in 2023. This paper introduces the breeding process and varietal characteristics of Zhongyou 511 and summarizes key techniques for seed production and cultivation, providing references for its further promotion and subsequent breeding improvement.
