Abstract:
In order to accelerate the promotion and application of new rice varieties, the characteristics of the parents of new high-quality hybrid rice variety Maoyou 039 and its high-yielding seed production techniques suitable for Quanzhou region were summarized based on field production practice. The parents of Maoyou 039 were sowed by stages to observe their characteristics. The results showed that the female parent Maoxiang A featured rice blast resistance and stable male sterility, yet exhibited reduced flowering quantity and weakened stigma vitality under high temperature conditions. The male parent Quanhui 039 was characterized by strong tillering ability, vigorous growth and abundant pollen supply. The female parent Maoxiang A was sown from late June to early July in Quanzhou area, and the male parent Quanhui 039 was sown in the middle and late June and earing heading in the middle and late September, and the sowing interval between female and male parents was about 15 days. Rational application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers could enhance the stigma vitality and flowering performance of the female parent. Appropriate regulation of gibberellin dosage on the male parents combined with artificial supplementary pollination could easily achieve the high yield in the seed production of hybrid rice.
