Abstract: In order to screen out the high-quality rice varieties suitable for promotion in Guangze County, seven new high-quality middle-season rice varieties were selected by Guangze County Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs in 2022. By taking Shenliangyou 5814 (CK) as the control, a comparative experiment was conducted to investigate the growth period, agronomic traits, stress resistance and yield of various rice varieties. The results showed that the yields of Ming 1 Youmingzhan, Yexiangyou 669, Yongyou 5526 and Qi 2 You 2015 were 10 215, 10 155, 9 975 and 9 690 kg·hm⁻², respectively, which were 16.2%, 15.5%, 13.4% and 10.2% higher than that of Shenliangyou 5814 (CK). The above four varieties had the characteristics of high and stable yield, moderate growth period, compact plant type, stem lodging resistance, good disease resistance, good color changing during ripening, and excellent rice quality. Their comprehensive agronomic traits were outstanding, which could better adapt to the ecological and climatic conditions of Guangze County and the farming mode of middle-season rice. Therefore, they could be used as the local dominant middle-season rice variety for large-scale promotion.
