Abstract:
In this study, a simple and rapid analytical method combining streamlined sample pretreatment, gas chromatography-electron capture detection(GC-ECD)and external standard quantitation was established for the simultaneous detection of 8 topical insecticide residues — fipronil and its metabolites, plus four pyrethroid compounds — in Zhongshan muscovy duck meat and duck egg by-products. Following purification using Waters Oasis PRiME HLB solid-phase extraction cartridges, sample analysis showed that all 8 target analytes exhibited excellent linearity over the concentration range of 0.04–0.4 mg·L
−1, with all correlation coefficients(r
2)above
0.99928, and the limits of detection(LODs)ranged from 0.01 to 0.10 mg·kg
−1. Recovery tests were performed at three spiking levels: 0.01, 0.04 and 0.10 mg·kg
−1 for most analytes, while separate gradients of 0.10, 0.40 and 1.00 mg·kg
−1 were set for cyhalothrin and permethrin. The spiked recoveries of all components fell within 80.01%–90.34%, with relative standard deviations(RSDs)of 4.28%–9.88%. Featuring simple operation, satisfactory purification efficiency and low testing cost, this method is suitable for batch monitoring of topical insecticide residues in poultry and egg products by grassroots testing institutions.
