Abstract: In this paper, the meanings of food safety were expounded, the serious situation and outstanding problems in food safety in our country were analyzed, and some countermeasures and suggestions to solve the food safety problem were put forward from the aspects of environmental improvement of food-producing area, standardization of production and circulation link, perfection of laws and regulations, formulation of safety standards and technology, strengthening of supervision and market access system, research and development of new technology and informatization, and conducting propaganda and education in science popularization, and so on.
