Abstract: Hetian chicken, as one of the excellent local breeds in Changting County, Fujian Province, has gradually changed from breed superiority to resource superiority and economic superiority. However, some serious problems emerged in the development process restricted the development of Hetian chicken industry, such as complexity and degeneration of breeds, destruction of ecological environment by traditional breeding mode, imperfection of epidemic prevention and control system, low level of industrialization, marketing, and so on. Combining with the national "precise poverty alleviation" project, the corresponding countermeasures were put forward to provide references for the development of Hetian chicken industry in Changting County.
