Abstract: The planting adaptability of sweet corn in Fuqing City was analyzed by using the meteorological data of 1981-2010 in Fuqing, and the adverse effects of climate conditions on the growth of sweet corn in Fuqing City in 2012 was investigated. Based on the requirements of climatic conditions for sweet corn growth and development, and regulation of climatic condition in Fuqing City, the optimum sowing periods for sweet corn planting were: spring sowing is appropriate in mid March; and autumn sowing is suitable in the late August to the early September.
