Abstract: New hybrid rice “Yongyou 17” was planted as middle-season rice at Yangli Town, Dahu Town and Yanping Town of Minhou County in 2012 and 2013. It performed the traits of even and higher plant height, moderate plant type, strong stem, big ears, high yield and good grain quality. Some technical practices should be taken including sowing in time, nursing strong seedlings, rational plant density, scientific management of fertilizer and water, and control of diseases and pests, in order to gain high yield.
