    Breeding of spring soybean with high protein content “Pudou No.5”

    • A new spring soybean variety “Pudou No.5” was bred by sexual hybridization with “Quandou No.7” as female parent and “Tedali No.1” as male parent by Putian Agriculture Sciences Institute, Fujian province using pedigree analysis. It showed high protein content, high and stable yield, wide adaptability and resistance to anthracnose and could be cultivated in main soybeanproducing areas of Fujian province. This paper introduced breeding program of “Pudou No.5” and summarized its characteristics and cultivation techniques.
