A screening test of tomato stock varieties

A screening test of tomato stock varieties was carried out with a major landrace “Nanshu 8878” as scion and introduced stock varieties “Guiqiezhen No.1”, “Banzhen 18”, “Zhezhen No.1”, “Kezhen No.1” and “Guozhen No.1” as stocks. The results showed that the seedlings grafted on 5 introduced stock varieties had high resistance to bacterial wilt and improved yield very significantly compared to those self-grafted plants. “Guiqiezhen No.1” had the best performance with high resistance and high yield. “Guiqiezhen No.1”, “Zhezhen No.1”, “Kezhen No.1” and “Guozhen No.1” could be extended in Xianyou County. “Banzhen 18” could be coordinately cultivated in heavily infected areas by nematode.
