    Discussion on compound management techniques of Chinese fir and Polygonatum cyrtonema

    • In this paper, compound management techniques of Chinese fir and Polygonatum cyrtonema were studied. The results showed that the suitable condition for growth and development of Polygonatum cyrtonema was when canopy density in upper forestry ranged between 0.5 and 0.7. When interplanting Polygonatum cyrtonema into Chinese fir forestry, the remained number of Chinese fir was 750 individual plants per hm was favorable for better growth and development of Polygonatum cyrtonema. Moderate clearance in forestry is a necessary method. The tuber yield of Polygonatum cyrtonema in treated field was higher. Defloration and decapitation of Polygonatum cyrtonema could obtain higher yield than that of non-treated plants (grow in wild manner, without defloration and decapitation) by 17.6%. So, Polygonatum cyrtonema could be interplanted into Chinese fir forestry was conductive to the cultivation of Chinese fir. Compound management of Chinese fir and Polygonatum cyrtonema is an advanced, rational and efficient management pattern and could be extended and applied in forestry production.
