Abstract
In this paper, effects of salinity on seed germination of New Zealand spinach were studied. The results showed that there were highest germination rate and germination index at 0 g/L and 5 g/L salinity while was only 9.0% of germination rate at 10 g/L salinity and basically lack of germination rate at 15 g/L salinity. The study on adaptability of New Zealand spinach in Quanzhou Bay showed that it showed 100% survival rate at saline-alkali soil where did not flooded by seawater, healthy growth condition, could complete whole life cycle and its relatively growth rate was 1965.28%; while it could not adapt to the areas where frequently flooded by seawater.
