Status of development, problems and countermeasures of Chinese yam industry in Quanzhou City

This paper summarized development status and problems of Chinese yam industry in Quanzhou City and proposed some countermeasures including strengthen breeding and popularization of new variety, building seed yam multiplication bases, promoting scale and standardized cultivation, improving planting and management level, accelerating pollution-free certification of provenance and improving competitiveness in market in order to advance sustainable and sound development of Chinese yam industry in Quanzhou City.
