Abstract
Effects of medium composition on rooting quality of Passiflora caerulea L. cutting propagation were studied using ten kinds of mediums, which composed by yellow soil, vegetable-garden soil, river sand, and carbonized rice hulls. The results showed that the average rooting rate, root amount and root length were all the best in carbonized rice hulls treatment, which were 95.16%, 11.51 and 13.68 cm, respectively. The smallest average root diameter appeared in river sand treatment, which was 0.69 mm. It was proved that the suitable medium for Passiflora caerulea L. was carbonized rice hulls, and to avoid using yellow soil.
