Comparison of extraction methods of essential oil from Damascus rose

To solve the problem in low extraction yield of rose essential oil from Damascus by the traditional steam distillation,a comparison test among three different extraction methods of steam distillation,salinization-water vapor distillation and double-steaming distillation was carried out.The results showed that using the double-steaming distillation could get highest yield of essential oils by 0.031%,the salinization-water distillation method was the second,and the steam distillation method was the lowest.It showed that the method of double-steaming distillation was the best one to extract the essential oil from Damascus rose and could be applied in production.
