Collection and preservation of Bacillus resources from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau

In order to establish the names and resource pool in Bacillus collections from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and perfect the Bacillus classification system in our country, the research team of Bacillus of Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences conducted a systematic study on Bacillus on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in 2013-2016 years. The soil samples were distributed at an altitude of 500-5100 m, and the habitats where the samples collected include plateau desert, canyon, meadow, temperate forest, subtropical rain forest, tropical rainforest, etc. And a resource pool of Bacillus on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau was established. By March 2017, 2827 resource vectors and 8532 strains of Bacillus were collected, of which 811 strains were preliminarily identified and 43 were suspected to be the new species. The resource pool of Bacillus spp. on Qinghai-Tibet Plateau has been established.
