Effects of different tillage patterns on the growth of sweet pepper under greenhouse conditions

    • Three tillage patterns, including water soaking soil, paddy-upland rotation with rice, and planting green manure crop Sesbania cannabina for returning, were conducted to treat the soil in the summer fallow period of sweet pepper in southern Fujian. The results showed that all of three tillage patterns could effectively promote the growth of sweet pepper, decrease occurrence of pests and diseases, and improve the yield and quality of sweet pepper. Among them, the tillage methods of paddy-upland rotation with rice and planting green manure crop significantly and very significantly increased the yield of sweet pepper respectively, at same time, decreased the soil salinization, and improved the soil fertility.
