Preliminary report on production performance of 27 barley forage varieties introduced to Northern Fujian

In order to expand the number of forage varieties at cold season in Fujian Province, 27 barley forage varieties were introduced for screening and planting in northern Fujian. The results showed that five varieties of ‘Damaihua22’, ‘Yangmai14’, ‘Yangmai158’, triticale and ‘Minyou3’ had better performance. Among them, ‘Damaihua22’ performed the most excellent with the highest yield, good traits of chilling resistance, lodging resistance, and so on.
