Simple Trellis Cultivation Techniques of Japanese Persimmon

In 2004, some scions of excellent persimmon cultivar were introduced into Dehua County. Top grafting for new varieties, seedling raising and transplanting and trellis cultivation were carried out. After over ten years of demonstration and extension, Japanese persimmon performed some characters of high and stable yield, and good economic benefits. This paper summarized simple trellis cultivation techniques of Japanese persimmon including advantages of trellis cultivation, orchard establishment, transplanting, trellis construction, reasonable fertilization, management of flower and fruit, fruit bagging and control of diseases and pests.
