Introduction and Screening Test of New Fresh Corn Varieties

In order to screen new fresh corn varieties with strong adverse-resistance, high quality, high yield and good adaptability in eastern Guangdong Province, 11 introduced corn varieties were tested for screening. The results showed that there was little difference in their growth periods among 11 corn varieties at autumn cropping season, and these varieties performed high-yielding character, ‘Guangtiannuo No.1’, ‘Nongtian 8’, ‘Zhuyunuo No.1’, ‘Guangtian 1601’ and ‘Nongtian88’ had good comprehensive characteristics including high yield, large spike, much and plump grains.
