A Simple Comparison Test of New Carrot Varieties

In this paper, introduced carrot varieties ‘Yanhong 99’, ‘Zaohong 146’, ‘666’, ‘1708’, ‘16002’, ‘16009’ ‘wc-1703’ and ‘wc-1701’ were used as materials with local cultivar ‘Hongyu 175’ as control to compare their biological characters, quality and yield. The results showed that four cultivars, i.e. ‘Yanhong 99’,‘666’, ‘16002’ and ‘16009’ had good comprehensive performance, showing blunt conical fleshy root, good root shape, regular size, same color in skin, flesh and central vascular axis, high resistance to diseases and high yield. They could be potential cultivars suitable for fresh and processing. Further trial and observation were suggested.
