Analysis and Curing Techniques of Abnormal Fruit Drop of Castanea henryi

Cultivation of Henry chestnut has a long history in Zhenghe County. In recent years, serious abnormal fruit dropping occurred in the growing process of Castanea henryi. The investigated results showed that, the factors including poor flower bud differentiation, varietal complexity and poor quality, careless management, poor growth, poor site conditions, weak growth of trees, many kinds of pests and diseases, serious harm, and so on caused the abnormal fruit drop. The technical measures for curing its abnormal fruit drop were put forward from the aspects of deep ploughing chestnut orchard, improving soil fertility, rational fertilization, concentrating nutrients, rejuvenating tree vigor, and controlling diseases and insect pests.
