    Production Performance and Nutrient Quality of Seven Oat Varieties in Taizhou Area

    • Seven introduced oat varieties were planted in trial and their production performance and nutrient quality were comprehensively evaluated. The results showed that yield of hay, fresh forage, crude protein and digestible hay of Quebec", "Tianyan No.2" and "Baiyan No.7" at flowering period were higher while that of "Qingyin No.2", sweet oat and "KONA" were lower. "Baiyan No.7", "KONA" and " Qingyin No.2" had higher content of crude protein and lower content of neutral and acid detergent fiber, so it showed good nutrient quality. "Quebec" showed relatively poor nutrient quality. So based on comprehensive evaluation of yield and nutrient quality, "Baiyan No.7" is suitable to be introduced and planted in Taizhou area."
