    Comparative Experiment on the Introduced New Varieties of Eggplant in High Mountain Region

    • In order to select the high-quality varieties of eggplant suitable for the facility cultivation in high mountain region in Zhouning County of Fujian, the comparative experiment was carried out on the agronomic characters in the growth period, fruit characters and yields of the 4 introduced new varieties of eggplant. The results showed that considering comprehensively the agronomic characters, yields, commodity, etc., Hangqie No.1 had early maturity, cold resistance, bright purplish red skin, long fruit, high yield, wide adaptability, good quality and good market condition, the comprehensive characters of which were better than those of other tested varieties, indicating that the variety was suitable for the facility cultivation in Zhouning County and the surrounding areas.
