    Research Progress on Postharvest Preservation Technology of Banana Fruits

    • Banana is a typical kind of respiratory climactic fruit, that is, a series of physiological and biochemical changes related to maturity and senescence are occurred in the ripening process. Along with the infection of pathogenic bacteria, banana has become shorter storage life and lower commodity value. The research status of banana fruits in physical preservation technology (including modified atmosphere packaging, variable temperature preservation technology, and irradiation preservation technology), chemical preservation technology (by using ethylene antagonist and absorbent, chemical preservative) and biological preservation technology were summarized in this paper, in order to provide references for the research on the storage and preservation of banana and its production application.
