Abstract
The compound management effect of Pinus massoniana forest interplanted with Polygala fallax Hemsl was studied in this paper. As compared with the pure Pinus massoniana forest, the comparative experiment was conducted to analyze and compare the growth status and growth environment changes of Pinus massoniana forest interplanted with Polygala fallax Hemsl. The results showed that Pinus massoniana forest interplanted with Polygala fallax Hemsl could form multi-storied stand, and Polygala fallax Hemsl has grown in good condition, whose average fresh weight of leaf, stem and root could be 1504.34 kg·hm-2 when it was five years old. Compared with non-interplanting treatments (CK), the canopy, coronal mean DBH, mean tree height, and single tree volume increment respectively increased by 30.8%, 68.0%, 44.0%, 4.3% and 75.0%. There was a significant difference between the average DBH and single tree volume increment of Pinus massoniana, and the single tree volume of Pinus massoniana with interplanting treatment was greatly increased, and the growth environment of stand was improved and tended to be friendly. The results showed that the management effect of Pinus massoniana forest interplanted with Polygala fallax Hemsl was better after intermediate cuttings.
