Breeding and Application of Hybrid Rice “Qi 1 you 276”

“Qi 1 you 276” was a new indica three-line hybrid rice combination with the sterile line Qi 1 A as its female parent and the disease-resistant restorer line “Fuhui 276” bred by Rice Research Institute of Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences as its male parent. The combination was characterized by large panicle and grain size, good plant type, high & stable yield, good resistance, as well as discolouring during ripening, wide adaptability, etc. In 2017, it was examined and approved by Hainan Crops Variety Examination and Approval Committee. Therefore, the breeding process, characteristics and technical points of seed production and cultivation of the combination “Qi 1 you 276” were introduced in this paper.
