Effects of Bud Size, 6-BA and Activated Charcoal on the Bud Growth of Anthurium Andraeanum

    • By taking the aseptic seedlings of Anthurium andraeanum 'Pink Champion' as the test materials, the effects of the bud size, different concentrations of 6-Benzylaminopurine (6-BA) and activated charcoal (AC) on the bud growth of Anthurium andraeanum were studied under the condition of no exogenous auxin. The results showed that the size of bud had no significant effect on the callus rate, axillary bud rate and axillary bud number of Anthurium andraeanum, while the rooting number of long bud was significantly or extremely significantly higher than that of short bud. Under the condition of adding 0.25-1.00 mg·L-1 6-BA, the rooting rate of long bud was extremely significantly higher than that of short bud, and the number of new leaves of short bud was extremely significantly higher than that of long bud. When only adding 0.25-1.00 mg·L-1 6-BA,the fresh callus amount of long bud was extremely significantly higher than that of short bud, and the callus rate, fresh callus amount, axillary bud rate, axillary bud number and new leaf number of Anthurium andraeanum was extremely significantly increased, while the rooting rate was extremely significantly decreased and the rooting number of Anthurium andraeanum was significantly or extremely significantly decreased. 1.0 g·L-1 AC had no significant effect on the test indexes, but could make 0.25-1.00 mg·L-1 6-BA function normally. In conclusion, under the condition of no exogenous auxin, the bud size, 6-BA and AC had certain effects on the bud growth of Anthurium andraeanum, and AC should be cautiously used in the tissue culture of Anthurium andraeanum.
