    Effect of Removing the Invalid Tillers on the Agronomic Traits and Yield of Coix lacryma-jobi Puyi No.6 Under Different Planting Densities

    • In order to provide scientific basis for the high-yield and high efficient planting of Coix lacryma-jobi, by taking Puyi No.6 as the experimental material, the effects of removing the invalid tillers on the growth period, agronomic characters and yield of Coix lacryma-jobi under different planting densities were studied. The results showed that after removing the invalid tillers, there was no difference in the growth period of Puyi No.6 under different planting densities, and there was no obvious regularity in the changes of the agronomic characters. After removing the invalid tillers, the yield of Coix lacryma-jobi with the planting density of A4 (138900 plants·hm2) was the highest, reaching 3812.02 kg·hm-2, which was 2.69%-30.08% higher than that of Coix lacryma-jobi undet the other four treatments, and was 21.33% higher than that of the control. The plant height, grain number per spike, number of effective grains and ripening percentage of Coix lacryma-jobi at this density were suitable, and had higher yield-increasing potential.
