    Effects of Different Biological Baits on the Growth and Reproductive Performance of Marphysa sanguinea

    • In order to screen the biological baits suitable for the growth and egg deposition of Marphysa sanguinea, Ruditapes philippinarum (group A), Ostrea rivularis Gould (group B) and Euphausia superba (group C) were used as the biological baits. After 6 months of feeding, the effects of three kinds of biological baits on the growth rate, egg deposition time, egg deposition amount, egg deposition times, average egg diameter and average hatching rate of Marphysa sanguinea were compared, and the effects of different biological baits on the growth and reproduction performance of Marphysa sanguinea were evaluated. The results showed that: the survival rate of each bait feed group was 100%. The weight gain rate and specific growth rate were both group A (135% and 0.475%) >group B (112% and 0.417%) >group C (106% and 0.401%). The primary egg-laying time of group B was the earliest, and the average egg-laying amount was the highest (2319 eggs/pair). There was no significant difference in the average egg diameter among the experimental groups (P<0.05), with the egg diameter ranging from 275 to 285 μm. And the average hatching rate of each group was B(90.67%)>A(86.33%)>C(76.00%). In summary, the test results showed that Ruditapes philippinarum was more suitable as the daily feeding bait for Marphysa sanguinea, and Ostrea rivularis Gould was suitable to be developed as the biological bait for the parental enhancement of Marphysa sanguinea.
