    Effects of Oyster Shell Soil Conditioner on the Physical and Chemical Properties of Soil, the Yield and Benefit of Radish

    • At present, the aggravation of soil acidification in farmland has aroused widespread concern. The field experiment in the vegetable field with acidic soil was carried out to study the effects of different dosages of oyster shell soil conditioner (0, 750, 1 500, 2 250, 3 000 kg·hm-2) on the physical and chemical properties of soil, the yield of radish and economic benefits. The results showed that: compared with the control group, the pH value of soil applied with the oyster shell soil conditioner increased by 0.1-0.5 units, the exchangeable acid decreased by 0.25-0.69 cmol·kg-1, the exchangeable calcium content increased by 12.26-45.52 mg·kg-1, the yield of radish increased by 3.2%-18.0%, and the net benefit increased by 1 444-10 165 yuan·hm-2. In summary, the application of oyster shell soil conditioner on the acidic soil could significantly alleviate the soil acidification and effectively improve the physical and chemical properties of soil. By considering the effect of soil acid modification and production efficiency comprehensively, 1 500-2 250 kg·hm-2 oyster shell soil conditioner applied to radish was the appropriate dosage.
