    Screening of Rice Varieties with High Quality in the Tobacco Production Area of Honghe Prefecture in Yunnan Province

    • In order to promote the coordinated development of grain and tobacco, screen the suitable new rice varieties, and create the brand of fragrant and soft rice, 24 rice varieties were selected to compare and analyze the yield and cooking and eating quality in the core tobacco production area in Honghe Prefecture of Yunnan Province. The results showed that: among the tested varieties in the japonica rice group, compared with the control group Yunjing No.37, the yield of Yunzijing No.25 and Yunjing No.48 increased significantly, and the yield of Yunzijing No. 25 was the highest, reaching 10 024.24 kg·hm−2. Among the tested varieties in the indica rice group, compared with the control group Yunhui 290, the yield of Diantun 502, Daihao Zinuo and Dianhong 151 increased significantly, and the yield of Yunhangxian No.3, Yunhangxian No.14, Yunzixiang No.1, Yunzinuo No.1, Huamoxiang No.3, Yunzihong 23 and Yunzihong 28 increased extremely significantly. Yunhangxian No.14 had the highest yield of 10 404.04 kg·hm−2. The analysis of cooking and eating quality showed that among the japonica rice group, compared with the control group Yunjing No.37, Yunhangjing No.4, Yunjing 49, Yunjing No.50 and Yunzijing 25 had better cooking and eating quality. Among the indica rice group, compared with the control group Yunhui 290, Yunhangxian No.14, Diantun 502, Yunzixiang No.1, Dianhong 151 and Yunzihong 28 had better cooking and eating quality. Finally, the varieties with high quality and high yield such as Yunhangjing No.4, Yunzijing 25, Yunhangxian No.14, Yunzixiang No.1 and Yunzihong No.28 were screened out, which were suitable for the development of grain and tobacco coordination in the tobacco area of Honghe Prefecture and the creation of fragrant and soft rice brand with plateau characteristics.
