Abstract
【Objective】In order to clarify safety assessment of insecticides to Amblyseius swirskii, and coordinate the relationship between biological control and chemical control. 【Methods】This experiment employed the slide-dip method and comprehensive toxicity assay to assess the toxicity of seven commonly used insecticides on female adult mites of Amblyseius swirskii, followed by corresponding safety evaluations.【Results】The results showed that the order of toxicities of 7 insecticides to female adults of Amblyseius swirskii was: Matrine > Valaxon > Abamectin > Fenpropathrin > Chlorbenzuron > Imidacloprid > Bt. Slide dipping method and safety assessment indicated that Bt were highly safe to female adults of Amblyseius swirskii, low concentrations of Imidacloprid were highly safe to female adults of Amblyseius swirskii. However, based on the comprehensive toxicity assessment, Imidacloprid was found to be low toxic. Matrine, Valaxon, Chlorbenzuron, Abamectin and Fenpropathrin were found to be moderately toxic.【Conclusion】It is recommended that biocontrol gardens releasing Amblyseius swirskii minimize the use of the following five pesticides: Valaxon, Matrine, Abamectin, Fenpropathrin, and Chlorbenzuron. If required, Bt can be employed, along with Imidacloprid and Amblyseius swirskii.
