Evaluation on the Ecological Services Value of the Minjiang River Estuary Wetland

Abstract
The Minjiang river estuary wetland was of great significance to maintain the ecological balance and ecological security in Fuzhou area. The scientific development and utilization of wetland service value could provide the scientific basis for balancing the relationship between the wetland ecological environment protection and management development. By using the service value evaluation methods such as the market value method, alternative engineering method and carbon tax method, and by taking 2022 as the baseline year, the evaluation system of ecosystem service value (ESV) of Minjiang river estuary wetland was constructed, including 14 evaluation indexes of four types of service functions, such as supply, culture, support and regulation. At the same time, the social discount rate (SDR) was introduced to unify the value of each index into the monetary level of the same evaluation year, and then the value evaluation was carried out accordingly. The results showed that the total value of the ecosystem service function of the Minjiang river estuary wetland was 72.70 billion yuan·a−1, and the service value per unit area was as high as 305.34 yuan·m−2·a−1. The value of the four types of service functions was in the order of provisioning service (4.808 billion yuan·a−1) > regulating service (2.393 billion yuan·a−1) > cultural service (0.53 billion yuan·a−1) > support service (0.16 billion yuan·a−1). The direct economic benefits of the ecological services provided by the Minjiang river estuary wetland were higher than the indirect ecological benefits, and the provisioning service was the dominant service of the wetland ecological service function. The high service value per unit area of the Minjiang river estuary wetland showed its unique ecological advantages and resource endowments, and also revealed that the region had strong ecological carrying capacity and sustainable development potential.
