Screening and comprehensive evaluation of new high-yield and high-quality peanut varieties in Nan'an City

In order to screen for high-yield, high-quality, disease resistant, and green peanut varieties suitable for planting in Nan'an City, 12 new peanut varieties were introduced in the spring of 2024 and field experiments were conducted at the Zhongqin Family Farm in Nan'an, Fujian Province, in Gongzhan Village, Matou Town. The peanut variety Shanyou 71, which is planted by farmers in Nan'an City for a large area all year round, was used as a control to comprehensively compare the agronomic traits, high yield, stress resistance, and adaptability of the tested varieties. The results showed that the pod yield of Quanhua 28 and Quanhua 29, as well as the seed and kernel yield of Quanhua 28, Puhua 60, and Quanhua 551, showed a significant increase compared to the control. Moreover, these varieties exhibited excellent comprehensive traits such as plant and fruiting traits. It is recommended to conduct expanded demonstration trials in the next year; Fuhua 0947 and Puhua 45 exhibit good comprehensive traits such as yield, stress resistance, adaptability, plant traits, and fruiting traits. It is recommended to continue testing Fuhua 0947 and Puhua 45 next year to further observe their trial planting performance.
